Wiro Binding

Drake Print Finishers can offer the widest range of Wiro Binding options including:

• Standard Wiro
• Calendar Binding with thumb cut & hanger

Standard Wiro Binding - usually has 2 x 2pp covers with text between, and leaves the wire fully exposed. There are other variations including folding the covers to form a throw out, or French folding.

Half Canadian Binding - partially conceals the wire behind a square spine. The cover is normally a 4pp cover and the spine is printed on to mimic the effect of perfect binding, but this form allows the book to be opened completely flat without damaging the spine. The wire is exposed through the rear cover only, leaving the front cover clear to display the printed image.

Tent Card Calendars - are bound as in standard wire binding, but the tent card is bound into the wire.

Calendars with a Thumb Cut and Hanger (or multiple hangers for larger calendars) - this is similar to standard wire binding, but the bound edge has two separate lengths of wire on either side of a hanger. If a hanger is used, you will need a corresponding thumb cut to allow for the turning of the pages.
